Mihira
An Ode to the Breath of Life is a dream that grew from love, memory, and music.
Mihira is a musical tribute to the Sun, Nature, and every living being on this Earth. The word Mihira comes from Sanskrit, meaning the Sun—the eternal source of life. This idea was inspired by my grandmother, who always reminded me that the greatest superpowers we witness every day with our naked eyes are the Sun and Nature themselves. That thought stayed with me, shaped me, and eventually became this music project.
As a singer, I knew this theme deserved a soul-deep musical treatment. The first person I thought of was music director Nandhu Kartha, and when I shared the concept with him, he instantly connected with it. That’s where Mihira truly began its journey. The beautiful lyrics were penned by the renowned lyricist BK Harinarayanan, adding depth and poetry to the soul of the music.
A special highlight of Mihira is that the original composition features women musicians from across the world, coming together in harmony—celebrating strength, nature, and life itself.
For the visual storytelling, I always wished for Sruthy Sharanyam to direct this project. I’ve admired her work for a long time, and when we approached her, she embraced the idea wholeheartedly. Her vision brought Mihira to life on screen in the most magical way.
This project becomes even more special to me as it is launched by the legendary Bijibal, a mentor who has given me immense support and opportunities throughout my music career. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Mihira is not just a song—it’s gratitude, memory, light, and breath woven into music.
